“IT’S MASSIVE”

February 8th, 2010

My new song for MASSIVE INDIFFERENCE … it’s okay:

Balboa Park / San Diego CA

The cold concrete under my feet
It’s there to remind me

The shadow cast by the overpass
It’s ourselves, eternally

We’re not gonna go
As far as what we make
The world around us closes in
And nothing here’s at stake

Sign my name and play the games
Get out of  bed today

Weep when they’re gone then pass it on
It carries on this way

It’s the saddest song of all
It’s “I will die one day”
It’s “There’s no God,” it’s winter breath
It’s better than okay

It’s summer skies, it’s pizza pie, it’s beer and friends and sleep
It’s taking walks, it’s brand new socks, it’s baseball on TV
It’s all that’s right, it’s all that’s wrong, it’s not giving a shit
It’s getting up at 4am and the fridge light still stays lit

We’re not gonna last
As long as we would like
The world around us closes in
I won’t put up a fight
