Sometimes the bands ask for the skulls and stuff...

The name under which I do all of this work — Wall of Youth — comes from a Beavis and Butt-head episode in which their class is invited to participate in an art show at the local mall. When the boys show up to install their art, they instantly get bored and instead start scrawling the names of their favorite heavy metal bands all over the walls. It’s a disgrace, but the local art critic who’s there to judge the show loves it.

I’ve never really been able to put into words how important this punk rock stuff is to me but maybe that paragraph you just read tells you what you need to know.

I’ve been working with the band Direct Hit since 2012 and have put together 6 LPs and an endless amount of EPs, flyers, and merch designs for them. It’s been a wild ride.

Wall of Youth was, and maybe still is, also a record label. I released three albums by my own band, Brain Vacation, on the imprint. Dormant since Nuclear Retort in 2016 (above), I wouldn’t say the label’s doors are closed — maybe I’m just looking for a red hot demo tape to slide across my desk.
